Day to day life.

Dream Job/ Career Aspirations: Kirsty's dream job would be to teach textiles as well as to be a free lance wallpaper designer.

Final Major Project: Kirsty is currently working on her final major project designing A1 wallpaper samples, she will also screen print a number of wallpaper lengths. Her work is a mixture of hand painted/ screen printed samples with a bright bold colour pallet. Her theme is New York, mixing the busy life of Times Square with pattern and people and has taken great inspiration from artists such as Hennie Haworth.

STUDENT PROFILE: Lauren Grainger

Specialism: Card & Gift

Inspirations: Lauren finds most of her inspiration from magazines such as: Elle Decoration, The World of interiors, Textile Forum and Living and is influenced by Cox & Cox, Maileg, Cath Kidson, Habitat and Five Dollar Shake.

Dream Job/Career Aspirations: Lauren hopes to get a job designing for a card company or to have her own business producing intricate, unique cards and stylish decorations to compliment the home.

Final Major Project: Lauren's concept for the Final Major project is based around beautiful objects including architectural detail, floral’s, jewels and crowns. She has taken pattern and texture from these objects and using a rich, luxurious colour palette, aims to create a collection of innovative gift ware.

Her aim is to produce a collection which is based around the winter and Christmas time of the year; however the collection could also be multi seasonal. Lauren will be using a variety of methods including, print, cut work, hand painted images and use a variety of papers and textures and the final collection will include intricate cards alongside decorative objects to compliment the home.
